Restaurants & Shopping in Kenya

Eat & drink

How about munching on delicious delicacies of Kenya while sitting surrounded by the dense and thick forests. That is essentially the dining experience in Kenya.

Most cuisine in Kenya is centred around Ugali, which is a thick dough-like paste made out of Maize flour or Cassava Flour. The food in Kenya is centred more around sustenance than flourish or presentation. Hence, most foods are simple carb-based meals.
Nyama Choma
Nyama Choma is a barbecued meat delicacy available all over the country. The gamey tasting food acts as a perfect filler when paired with Tusker Beer. The choice of meat is often Mutton and Beef rather than chicken.

Nairobi in Kenya is the best place to shop,  if you know what you are looking for.

The City market in Nairobi
It is a great place to buy some daily essentials, carved wooden items and souvenirs. It is located at Slip Road, and is open everyday from 6 AM to 8 PM. Don’t bother haggling though, the bargains are as cheap as it can be.
Maasai Market
This is the second best place to shop in Kenya. You can buy traditional African jewellery and souvenirs here. The best part is, you can find a Maasai Market around every corner!
