Coronavirus Update – Greece

Here’s the latest update on how the COVID-19 situation is unfolding in Greece.

What’s Happening Right now?

As of 10th April 2020, Greece has 1,955 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country with just 87 casualties. Greece went on a lockdown on 23rd March 2020, which was much earlier, as compared to its European neighbours. The Greek government has tightened security measures and banned entry for all non- European Union citizens.

Precautions Being taken by Government

In order to flatten the curve, the country has extended the lockdown till the 27th of April. This has proved to be quit effective as it has reduced the country’s consumption of ICU capacities. Urging citizens on a daily basis to strictly comply with all measures, only essential services like supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and gas stations are open.
