Coronavirus Outbreak: Don’t Visit Mountains; Here’s Why

Most travel buffs had amazing resolutions surrounding travel when 2020 started. Little did anyone know that the global pandemic will put almost the entire world into lockdown and all the plans will have to be cancelled. COVID-19 has so far infected more than 11 Lac people and killed approximately 58,000 across the globe. As the virus spreads very fast from human to human transmission, experts and authorities have been urging people to practice quarantine, self-isolation and social distancing.

In times of corona, no place is safe other than your own home but residents of hills have been urging visitors to avoid heading to mountains at any cost. A similar message that surface on Instagram urged people to not to visit mountains as they lack proper medical facilities and as COVID-19 patients majorly face respiratory problems, it can be even more difficult at heights.

The message reads: “A request to anyone to anyone who is planning to visit mountains in the coming days: Please Don’t.” It further added, “There are no medical facilities in most of the villages in Himachal and Uttarakhand. It will take one person to collapse the whole area. Please act responsibly, self quarantine and work from home doesn’t mean you hang out in the mountains and show off.”

Further, the message urged people to stay at home as the pandemic continues to spread fat in India. The only way to fight the COVID-19 is by limiting social interaction and avoid any gatherings.
